1. Krishna Consciousness Society Founding Pillar – Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977), the founder and Acharya of ISKCON, was born in Kolkata, India under the given name, Abhay Charan De. He is widely regarded as the foremost Vedic scholar, translator, and teacher of the modern era.

2. Krishna Consciousness Society (KCS), known colloquially as the Hare Krishna movement. It was founded on 25 January 2021 in Jaipur by HG Gauranga Sundar Das.

 

3. KCS belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradāya, a monotheistic tradition within the Vedic culture. Philosophically it is based on the Sanskrit texts Bhagavad-gītā and the Bhagavat Purana, or Srimad Bhagavatam.

 

4. KCS is the orthodox core of Sanatan Dharma. It was registered in the year 2021 but dates back over 5000 years.

 

5. KCS plans to expand worldwide the teaching of Lord Chaitanya and His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.

6. KCS devotees chant God’s names in the form of the maha-mantra, or the great prayer for deliverance: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

 

7. Members of KCS practice bhakti-yoga in their homes and also worship in temples. The preparation and eating of food should be based on principles of compassion, non-violence and balanced living. Thus, Krishna devotees advocate a lacto-vegetarian diet, strictly avoiding meat, fish and eggs.

 

8. KCS plans to open temples, hospitals, schools, colleges, scientific research centers, eco-villages, free food distribution projects, and other institutions as a practical application of the path of devotional yoga.
